Don’t Try to Be Happy

The last of human freedoms – the ability to chose one’s attitude in a given set of circumstances.
- Viktor Frankl

If you are trying to be happy, that means you are not, currently. You are waiting or searching for external something so that you can be happy.

And you will fail.

Don’t try. Be happy. Now.

Hi Ari. I really like this quote. I’m all about choice. My favorite quote I have made up is “You can blame others or circimstances for your unhappiness or you can be happy.” Realizing you have a choice is so liberating!

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome to my blog. That’s a good one. I’m sure I can turn that single line into a 10,000 word essay. ;-)

I believe in this as well – Happiness is a choice.

Happiness is a choice. And I choose to be happy now! There’s too much good for us not to be happy… (I guess I’m just a “the-glass-is-half-full” kinda guy).

    Hi Ribeezie,

Thanks for the comment and welcome to OBV! Well, I used to be a glass-half-empty guy — but not any more. Sulking isn’t as sexy as I thought it was. ;-)
