I agree with you that challenges change us -- and they have the potential to change us for the better, regardless of the outcome of that particular challenges. I've had a number of risks I took in the past that didn't pan out as I'd hoped for. It's only recently that I can look back to all those and realize that they make me who I am today. I think it's important to select the right challenges too, the kind that helps us grow in the way we want as well as the kind that actually can provide benefit when it's completed. I had always enjoyed blogging, but by turning it into a professional pursuit, I upped the "challenge" meter -- writing cohesively and with focus is much harder! It doesn't quite compare to the joy of making music with my guitar, but I also need to promote myself, and doing that part using another act I enjoy may just be the winning combination for me. (I really don't enjoy playing to empty bars and clubs -- for me, audience is a necessary ingredient in making music) A good challenge makes life worthwhile. Thanks for sharing. ari Hi Barbara,
